Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals (REACH) is the new European Union Regulation that came into force on 1 June 2008. It addresses the impact of chemical substances on human health and the environment.

REACH requires importers (or manufacturers) of substances into the EU market to pre-register and then register with European Chemical Agency in Helsinki and ensure that all possible steps are taken to protect users from any hazards that might come from these substances.

Importers (manufacturers) that haven`t pre-registered their substances will not be able to import them into EU in the quantity of above 1 tonne per year from 1 January 2009.

Lipmann Walton has pre-registered the following substances:

- Rhenium ( We are also a member of Precious Metals and Rhenium Consortium )
- Ammonium Perrhenate ( APR )
- Nickel alloy ( containing Re, Ni, Ti, Ta, Cr, Co, Al, Mo, Fe, W )
- Hafnium
- Zirconium
- Tantalum
- Titanium
- Indium
- Gallium

The company has also pre-registered other substances that we are trading or intend to trade.
